Installing your room heater

A QUICK AND EASY INSTALLATION !

To install an electric heating appliance is easy, provided that you possess some handiwork skills! It is far easier to install than a central heating system. It can be done without problem by following a simple procedure.

THE RIGHT LOCATION

Finding the right location, in each room, is the starting point for an optimum functioning, especially for appliances that are electronically controlled. The functioning must not be disrupted by air draughts. It is better to avoid the installation under windows of mediocre quality, at the entrance of a room or in any zone with air draughts that could disturb the temperature control. Otherwise, except in the bathroom, where you must comply with the current electrical safety regulations, it is possible to install them on every wall… Provided of course that a dedicated power supply is available.

USERS PROTECTION AND APPLIANCE SAFE OPERATING

Electric appliances' protection level against splashing water is defined by their IP index which defines the safe installation areas for electric appliances when close to water draining points.

Atlantic appliances have a high IP index up to IP 24 and can be installed in areas 2 or 3 of your bathroom depending on country regulation.

Atlantic products IP index guarantees safe operation.

FIXING AND HANGING

Once the nature of the support is identified (solid, hollow, plasterboard), choose an adapted drill and pegs. Then, mark the points based on the fixing dimensions of the appliance, in order to place it at least 15 cm above the floor. You will find all the necessary information and assembling diagrams in the leaflet. When you are certain of your marks, drill, place the pegs and fasten. Depending on the appliances, they will be fitted with fixing brackets or hooks. Then, connect the appliance to the socket. Lastly, hang the heater to the mural fixings. As an option, some appliances can be fitted with a standing kit.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

If you have doubts, it is highly recommended calling a professional installer. In any case, for your safety, switch off immediately the main power supply! Then, refer to the installation manual supplied with your appliance. The connection must be carried while respecting the voltage and the conventional color code for wiring indicated on the information plate: neutral (blue) and phase (brown or red in general). The black wire is to be used if you want a centralised programming and if your home is equipped with pilot wires. All Atlantic appliances are fitted with dual electric insulation and do not need to be grounded (green/yellow wire).
